Terence Davies’ A Quiet Passion to premiere at the Berlin Film Festival

The director’s new film about the life of Emily Dickinson will receive a Special Gala screening.

Last month when we sat down with British director Terence Davies to talk about his most recent masterwork, Sunset Song, he delivered a pleasant surprise by confirming that his next project, A Quiet Passion, was already completed.

Described as his “most autobiographical” film, it tells the story of celebrated American poet Emily Dickinson (Cynthia Nixon), charting her life from her strong-willed schooldays to her tragically isolated adulthood. Today the film’s producers have announced that it will receive its bow at the 66th Berlin Film Festival in February.

Our own @AWLies will be reporting from the festival, so stay tuned for a first look review soon.
