Since the company was founded in 2012, independent US distributor A24 has released some of our favourite movies of recent years, including Spring Breakers, Under the Skin and The Witch to name just a few. Now they’ve moved into co-production with Moonlight, which judging by its official trailer looks a sure bet to be one of the highlights of 2016.
Written and directed by Barry Jenkins and based on the play ‘In Moonlight Black Boys Look Blue’ by Tarell Alvin McCraney, the film tells the life story of a gay black man named Chiron (Trevante Rhodes) over three separate but connected chapters. The talented cast also includes Naomie Harris, André Holland and Mahershala Ali.
