Now’s your chance to own a piece of film history – along with Jack Nicholson’s corduroy jacket.

The Italian memorabilia site astebolaffi.it is auctioning several items from the personal collection of Stanley Kubrick’s late assistant Emilio D’Alessandro – including an incredibly rare cut of the director’s 1980 horror The Shining featuring a never-before-seen scene.

The listing comprises original poster artwork, assorted props and autographed collectibles from A Clockwork Orange, Dr Strangelove, Full Metal Jacket and Eyes Wide Shut. Among the more unusual items are two patterned carpets taken from the set of The Shining, and Jack Torrance’s burgundy jacket, which is expected to fetch upwards of €10,000.

Also included in the huge lot are Kubrick’s membership card for the Writers Guild of America, along with one of Gunnery Sergeant Hartman’s hats from Full Metal Jacket, and a clapperboard from Eyes Wide Shut.

But the most unique item up for sale is undoubtedly a long cut of The Shining, containing a scene where Shelley Duvall’s Wendy carries Danny, as played by Danny Lloyd. Given Kubrick’s notorious habit of burning all leftover film stock at the end of the editing process, the mere existence of this additional scene is quite remarkable.
