Kick off 2017 by getting your artistic juices flowing with our latest creative brief.

If you look at Kiwi director Taika Waititi’s Twitter page, you’ll see that he’s been busy posting pics of himself and various Hollywood megastars goofing off on the set of his forthcoming blockbuster, Thor: Ragnarok.

However, that slightly boastful manner may just be a result of the fact that he can also claim to have made one of 2016’s most beloved films: Hunt for the Wilderpeople, a charming, mischievous chase comedy set in the leafy backwoods of the New Zealand bush.

The film is based on a novel by Barry Crump named Wild Pork and Watercress and it sees Julian Dennison’s angry delinquent Ricky, and curmudgeonly outcast Hec, decide to take their leave from polite society and go it alone in the jungle. As they begin to let down their guard and share important life lessons with one another, they also become the subject of a manhunt, with the authorities closing in at every turn.

To celebrate the UK DVD and Blu-ray release of Hunt for the Wilderpeople on Monday 16 January, we’re inviting you to design a old-fashioned wanted poster featuring either or both of Ricky and Hec. Your entry should be inspired by the film’s comic tone and its New Zealand setting, and we’ll be looking for the most original and playful design. You don’t have to stick to the classic sepia-tinted wanted poster design either – be as colourful and creative as you like!

The overall winner, as judged by the LWLies creative team, will receive a Hunt for the Wilderpeople T‑shirt, a DVD copy of the film and a poster signed by key cast and crew. Three runners up will receive a DVD copy of the film, and all entries will be featured on the LWLies Facebook page. We’ll announce the winners on Monday 16 January.

All entries must be produced at A4 size (210297 mm) and should be portrait format. Send your entry with the subject line Wilderpeople creative brief’ to competitions@tcolondon.com. The deadline for entries is midnight on Sunday 15 January. Please remember to include your full name so we know who to credit. You can also send us your entry via Twitter or Instagram by tagging @LWLies, but please be sure to email us a hi-res version of your entry as well. Good luck!
