Could you cre­ate a por­trait inspired by the auto­mo­tive imagery of Titane?

Agathe Rous­selle deliv­ered a break­out per­for­mance for the ages in Julia Ducournau’s Palme d’Or-winning Titane, which bewitched us so much we made a whole issue ded­i­cat­ed to its per­verse delights. To cel­e­brate the film’s pre­mière on stream­ing plat­form MUBI on March 16^th, we’ve teamed up with our friends over there to chal­lenge all artists with our lat­est cre­ative brief.

For this brief, we’d like you to send us an orig­i­nal illus­trat­ed por­trait of Agathe Rous­selle as Alexa, incor­po­rat­ing some ele­ment of or draw­ing inspi­ra­tion from the film’s mechan­i­cal imagery. We’re look­ing for unique, orig­i­nal takes on this por­trait – extra marks for inno­va­tion. Your entry can be as sim­ple or as intri­cate as you like, but it must incor­po­rate at least one of the fol­low­ing colours:

The win­ner will receive a £250 tat­too vouch­er from Sophie Mo (who cre­at­ed our Titane issue’s cov­er!), plus one year’s sub­scrip­tion to MUBI GO. In the event the win­ner can­not use the tat­too vouch­er, it can be used to redeem a cus­tom print from Sophie instead. Four run­ners-up will each win a year’s sub­scrip­tion to MUBI.

All entries must be pro­duced at A3 por­trait (297 x 420 mm) size. Sub­mit your design with the sub­ject line ​‘Titane cre­ative brief’ to competitions@​tcolondon.​com. The dead­line for entries is mid­night on 14^th March 2022.
