The actress plays a gunslinging mother who takes on a gang in this gritty revenge western.

We love a good western, and judging by the likes of Slow West, The Revenant and even Pixar’s The Good Dinosaur, the genre is in rude health. That trend looks set to continue well into next year with Gavin O’Conner’s Jane Got a Gun, which tells the story of Jane Hammond (Natalie Portman), a young mother who seeks help from her former fiancé (Joel Edgerton) when her New Mexico ranch is stormed by Ewan McGregor’s band of outlaws.

We’d be even more excited for this one if it had been directed by, say, Lynne Ramsey, but in all fairness this adrenaline-rush trailer has got our attention. What do you think? Watch below and let us know @LWLies
