The director has dropped some bonkers early sketches by 2000 AD artist Mick McMahon.

Apparently not one to rest on his laurels, Ben Wheatley is already busy prepping his follow-up to 2016’s High-Rise and his upcoming shoot em up Free Fire. Little is known about the gloriously-titled Freakshift, aside from the fact it’s being co-written by Wheatley’s regular collaborator and wife, Amy Jump. The story reportedly concerns a high-concept world where creatures rise up at night and terrorise law-abiding citizens. The title refers to a band of mercenaries who form to hunt down these nightmare creatures.

Excitingly, the director has taken to Twitter to reveal some concept art for the film by renowned British comic artist Mick McMahon. From the looks of these futuristic and frankly insane-looking sketches, Freakshift promises to be Wheatley’s most ambitious feature yet. We’ll keep you posted as and when we hear more, but in the meantime we’d strongly encourage you to keep an eye on @Freakshiftfilm.
