Transposing the time-honoured post-apocalyptic setting to the English countryside, The Survivalist announced writer/director Stephen Fingleton as one of British cinema’s most intriguing new voices. In our review we called the film a “mightily impressive calling card”, while praising the performance of Martin McCann as the eponymous lone survivor.
With the film now out on home release, we’ve nabbed an exclusive look at a new short film called Awaydays, an official prequel to The Survivalist in which a ‘prepper’ must ready his two young sons for a time of social collapse. The film is written by Fingleton and directed by Michael Lennox, whose previous Boogaloo and Graham earned a BAFTA win and an Academy Award nomination. Watch it above and let us know what you think @LWLies.
The Survivalist is out now on Blu-ray, DVD and Digital HD.
