We chat with the director and stars Saoirse Ronan, Florence Pugh and Timothée Chalamet.

Sweet but never saccharine, Greta Gerwig’s Little Women is a coming-of-age story told with infectious enthusiasm and palpable attention to detail.

This comes as no surprise, given Gerwig’s love for Louisa May Alcott’s seminal American novel, and in combining her enthusiasm for the source material with a stellar cast including Saoirse Ronan, Florence Pugh and Timothee Chalamet, she has created that rarest of literary adaptations: something that is faithful to its origins while also feeling fresh and bold.

We sat down with Greta and co to quiz them on the books they loved as children, as well as their favourite scene and what they most enjoy about working together.

Watch the interview clips below and see Little Women in cinemas 26 December.
