It’s common practice to celebrate or chastise directors and top-billed stars, but in truth there are many contributing factors that determine whether or not a film works. In a bid to throw a spotlight on the talented men and women whose work is often overlooked by critics and audiences alike, we’re scouring the land to find the cream of the British film industry’s below-the-line artisans, inviting them to discuss their craft via the objects that have helped shape their careers. The resulting show and tell sessions are intended to educate and inspire while providing unique insight into each participant’s creative process.

In this third episode of our Artifacts series, LWLies meets BAFTA nominated costume designer Sammy Sheldon Differ, whose credits include Gladiator, Kick-Ass, X‑Men: First Class, The Imitation Game and most recently Marvel’s Ant-Man. She shared with us some of her most prized keepsakes, from Russell Crowe’s blade to the now iconic Guy Fawkes mask from V for Vendetta to Benedict Cumberbatch’s threads in The Imitation Game.
