Heck, just a clip of David Lynch eating a doughnut to Angelo Badalamenti’s iconic score was enough to make us giddy with excitement, but now we’ve finally been treated to a proper glimpse of Agent Dale Cooper’s long-awaited return – and it’s even more brilliantly bonkers than we’d hoped.

Lynch and Mark Frost, the show’s creators, have been keeping everything about Season 3 tightly under wraps ahead of the season première on 21 May. With just a few agonising months left to wait, US network Showtime have apparently decided it’s time for the hint-dropping to stop and the fun to start. The message is clear enough: it is happening again.
