Eleven and co are back for the show’s return hot­ly-antic­i­pat­ed return.

The first sea­son of Stranger Things was Netflix’s third most-watched orig­i­nal show ever, so it’s fair to say we’re not the only ones who’ve been eager­ly antic­i­pat­ing the show’s return.

Dur­ing last night’s Super Bowl we final­ly got a first prop­er glimpse of Stranger Things 2 via a killer 30-sec­ond teas­er that starts out as a spoof ad for Eggo before descend­ing into night­mar­ish images and famil­iar nos­tal­gic nods (look out for the super cute Ghost­busters cos­play) – and the intrigu­ing tagline ​‘The world is turn­ing … Upside down’.

There’s no sign of Goonies star Sean Astin just yet, but it looks and sounds as if Eleven is back with the rest of the orig­i­nal cast. The trail­er ends on a dra­mat­ic note with an apoc­a­lyp­tic-look­ing scene that’s lift­ed straight out of War of the Worlds, and a sim­ple, tan­ta­lis­ing release date: Halloween.
