The Safdie Brothers are back with a hypnotic-looking New York crime drama.

Robert Pattinson’s career choices have been anything but predictable of late. He’s back surprising us again in the upcoming crime-drama Good Time, which tells of a blonde bank robber who has just 24 hours to spring his younger brother from jail.

The action-packed trailer promises a worthy follow-up to the Safdie brothers’ previous features Daddy Longlegs and The Pleasure of Being Robbed, which helped establish the directors as regular festival fixtures.

The official synopsis reads: After a botched bank robbery lands his younger brother in prison, Constantine Connie” Nikas (Pattinson) embarks on a twisted odyssey through the city’s underworld in an increasingly desperate – and dangerous – attempt to get his brother Nick (Benny Safdie) out of jail. Over the course of one adrenalised night, Connie finds himself racing against the clock to save his brother and himself, knowing both their lives hang in the balance.”

Staring Jennifer Jason Leigh, Barkhad Abdi, Buddy Duress, Taliah Wesbter, and co-director Benny Safdie, Good Time is set to have its world première at the Cannes Film Festival on May 24.

Good Time is released in cinemas 11 August. Let us know your thoughts on this trailer by tweeting @LWLies
