Brad Pitt is set to reprise his lead role in the apocalyptic zombie saga.

It’s no secret that Brad Pitt has been trying to get a sequel to World War Z made for some time now. And it looks like he’s finally set to get his wish, with a little help from his close friend David Fincher.

It’s coming up to 10 years since the pair last worked together – on The Curious Case of Benjamin Button – and this will mark their fourth major collaboration following ’90s hits Seven and Fight Club.

According to Variety, Fincher is very close to closing a deal that will see him direct the next chapter in the zombie saga, which is adapted from American writer Max Brooks’ apocalyptic horror novel.

Although the project is yet to receive the green light, Pitt’s reported courting of the director over the last few years seems to have paid off.

Fincher has recently completed work on the Netflix Original series Mindhunter, while Pitt is next appearing in David Michôd’s War Machine, which is also arriving this year courtesy of the streaming giant. Watch the trailers for both below…
