Enter our latest creative brief, inspired by Lynne Ramsay’s visceral thriller.

Joaquin Phoenix is an actor of rare intelligence and intensity, and his latest performance in Lynne Ramsay’s sensational thriller You Were Never Really Here is arguably his most powerful to date. To celebrate the release of what we’ve described as “a perfectly-crafted visceral experience” in UK cinemas on Friday 9 March, we’re setting a new creative brief – with some amazing prizes up for grabs…

For this brief, we’d like you to send us an original illustrated portrait of Joaquin Phoenix as his character in the film. Your entry can be as simple or as intricate as you like, but it must incorporate at least one of the following colours:

Bright orange square. Black square. Pale blue-green square.

To help get you started, we’ve embedded the official UK trailer and quad poster below. Here’s the official synopsis: A missing teenage girl. A brutal and tormented enforcer on a rescue mission. Corrupt power and vengeance unleash a storm of violence that may lead to his awakening.

Five winners, as chosen by our in-house design team, will receive a t-shirt, signed film poster, a copy of the soundtrack and Jonathan Ames’ source novel, and two tickets to see You Were Never Really Here at a cinema of their choice. The winning entries will also be displayed at London’s Curzon Soho in the week of the film’s release.

One overall winner will receive all of the above, plus two tickets to a special Q&A screening with Lynne Ramsay at Picturehouse Central on Friday 9 March (6.30pm).

All entries must be produced at A3 portrait (297 x 420 mm) size. Submit your design with the subject line ‘You Were Never Really Here creative brief’ to competitions@tcolondon.com. The deadline for entries is midnight on Thursday 1 March.

You can also send us your entry via Twitter or Instagram by tagging @LWLies, but be sure to email us a hi-res version of your entry as well. Please remember to include your full name so we know who to credit. Good luck!
