Natal­ie Port­man tools up in the new Jane Got a Gun trailer

The actress plays a gun­sling­ing moth­er who takes on a gang in this grit­ty revenge western.

We love a good west­ern, and judg­ing by the likes of Slow West, The Revenant and even Pixar’s The Good Dinosaur, the genre is in rude health. That trend looks set to con­tin­ue well into next year with Gavin O’Conner’s Jane Got a Gun, which tells the sto­ry of Jane Ham­mond (Natal­ie Port­man), a young moth­er who seeks help from her for­mer fiancé (Joel Edger­ton) when her New Mex­i­co ranch is stormed by Ewan McGregor’s band of outlaws.

We’d be even more excit­ed for this one if it had been direct­ed by, say, Lynne Ram­sey, but in all fair­ness this adren­a­line-rush trail­er has got our atten­tion. What do you think? Watch below and let us know @LWLies
