Victoria Woodhull follows the story of an American pioneer of the woman’s suffrage movement who ran for President of the United States. She was nominated at a time when women still didn’t have the right to vote, and wouldn’t for another 40 years.
Her inspirational rags to riches journey saw her go from spiritualist and free love advocate to politician and rebel. Woodhull also founded the first woman-led stock brokerage company, and created the radical publication Woodhull and Claflin’s Weekly.

As well as being one of Hollywood’s best and most in-demand actors, Brie Larson is an activist who has campaigned for victims of sexual abuse. She clearly picks her roles carefully, and recently remarked that “movies can be an extended form of activism.”
