The director’s annual celebration returns with an exciting blend of music and film.

Across a career that has spanned 50 years and counting, David Lynch has become synonymous with eccentric taste and creative flair. The promise of an arts festival curated by the cult filmmaker himself seems too good to be true, but the annual Festival of Disruption’ event in Los Angeles has become sacred ground for creatives and young artists over the last couple of years.

This year’s line-up is another celebration of underground artists, as well as those already in the pop culture spotlight. On the music side of things there’s Bön Iver’s Justin Vernon, who will be performing a rare solo set, as well as acclaimed singer-songwriter Laura Marling, TV on the Radio, Sharon Van Etten and many more. The film portion of the festival includes a screening of Lynch’s own Lost Highway, which celebrates its 20th anniversary this year, as well as unseen short films from his private catalogue.

Elsewhere on the docket is an exhibition of William Eggleston’s photography, as well as the ethereally titled Brian Eno’s Reflection’, ostensibly a spiritual installation hosted by the renowned musician.

Taking place on the weekend of 14 – 15 October, the Festival of Disruption looks set to become a permanent fixture of the director’s professional output, attracting artists across multiple disciplines while inspiring a new generation of artists.
