“Why doesn’t everybody just calm the fuck down!” screams Brie Larson in the beardy, sweary, lung-bustingly violent first trailer for writer/director Ben Wheatley’s hotly anticipated latest, Free Fire.
Set in the late 1970s somewhere in Boston, the film primarily takes place in an abandoned warehouse where Larson’s broker has set up a meeting between Irish gangsters (Cillian Murphy, Michael Smiley) and a pair of skittish gun traders (Sharlto Copley and Armie Hamer). Suffice to say, the deal doesn’t down as planned.
Free Fire will premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival 9 September (stayed tuned for our first look review) and is coming to the BFI London Film Festival in October. Before then, check out the above teaser and let us know your thoughts @LWLies.
