Watch the psychedelic first trailer for Woodshock

Amy Bowker

Kate and Laura Mulleavy, the dynamic sister act behind luxury fashion label Rodarte, are diving headfirst into the filmmaking world with their hypnotic-looking debut feature, Woodshock.

The project, which has been shrouded in secrecy since it was announced by A24 in early 2015, stars Kirsten Dunst as a young woman spiralling out of control after the loss of her mother.

The indie American production company behind recent hits Moonlight, The Witch and Under the Skin have now released the film’s first trailer, in which Dunst can be seen wandering a forest, exploring the mind-altering effects of an unknown cannabinoid while also (possibly) levitating.

Written and directed by the Mulleavy sisters, Woodshock also stars Green Room’s Joe Cole and Ghost in the Shell’s Pilou Asbæk, and will be released in September 2017. Check out the gorgeous poster below too.
