Watch the kinky first trailer for Fifty Shades Darker

If you’re one of those people who’s already keeping a 2017 diary, you might want to put a light pencil cross through Valentine’s Day – the release date for the hotly anticipated sequel to Fifty Shades of Grey. Though many people remember the first film as being a mildly kinky introductory course to light S&M perversion, we actually think it’s a darn sight better than the reputation which precedes it. In fact, Sam Taylor-Johnson’s film ends on an incredible and shockingly abrupt moment, which would’ve made it a perfect stand-alone movie.

Alas, the market decides, so here we are with the inevitable sequel, which looks like a school play version of Stanley Kubrick’s Eyes Wide Shut mixed with some helicopter high-jinx and lots of slick designer interiors. This time around, Dakota Johnson’s Anastasia Steele (lol) is lured back into the fetish wear honeytrap of pervo business magnate Christian Grey (Jamie Dornan), as the pair promise to take their special relationship to the next level. This first trailer appears to give rather a lot away, so those immune to spoilers would do well to give this a wide berth.

Fifty Shades Darker is released 14 February, 2017.
